Gabe finds deep purpose in the physicality of farm work — from planting seeds to harvesting by hand — and brings that same energy to teaching others, sharing practical skills and profound respect for the land as a path to connection, resilience, and growth.

Gabriel is the founder and Executive Director of The Bovina Center for Sustainability. After a career dedicated to education, he has brought his vision to fruition, combining a love of the natural world, a commitment to being additive to local communities, and a desire to highlight solution-based mindsets through experiential learning.

With a wealth of experience, including 30 years of classroom teaching, 15 years of serving on school boards, and over 12 years in school management, Gabriel is uniquely qualified to lead the Center and its programs.

Myles serves as the Assistant Director of The Bovina Center for Sustainability, a role he holds with expertise grounded in a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability from the State University of New York at Delhi. His practical experience with sustainable practices began early and was cultivated through his time working with a school on an educational farm in California.

The persistent hardships of environmental change in California—specifically severe wildfires and drought—inspired Myles to relocate to New York and help establish The Bovina Center for Sustainability. In his current position, he is dedicated to advancing the Center's mission and leveraging his background in both farming and education to foster sustainable community practices.

Beyond his professional life, Myles is deeply committed to community service. He is an active and valued member of the Bovina Fire Department, where he volunteers his time and skills as both a dedicated firefighter and an EMS provider, consistently giving back to those around him.

Alexis is a regenerative farmer, communications strategist and entrepreneur whose career spans nearly three decades across public relations, branding, sustainability, and creative storytelling.

Alexis co-founded the good gesture, a purpose-driven branding, marketing, and public relations agency with a purpose-driven mindset. In addition to her work in communications, she is a regenerative farmer at Quiet Peak Farm and the writer behind Tomorrow Is a Place, a niche blog exploring ideas for a better future.

Before launching her current ventures, Alexis spent nearly 20 years as the owner of Morning Sky Public Relations and previously held roles at a university, marketing agency and global management consulting firm. Her work brings together sustainability, storytelling, and strategic communication to create meaningful impact.

Terri Lydon is the President of the Board for the Bovina Center for Sustainability, where she brings more than 25 years of strategic marketing and leadership experience to advancing sustainable rural development.

She currently serves as President of the Evanston Township High School Booster Board and sits on the Board of the Publicity Club of Chicago. Terri previously ran her local AYSO travel soccer program and has held senior roles across agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and mission-driven organizations.

She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She lives in Evanston, Illinois, with her two teenagers, her dog named Orca and her cat named Rainbow.

Aloha! I've been fortunate enough to know Gabe and Alexis since we were in kindergarten together in 1979. As a lifelong public school teacher of 26 years, I'm excited to help develop the academic curriculum for this wonderful project.

My wife Kristie and I raised our son in Wyoming, and we are now settled in Montana. We hunt, fish, and process all our own animals. We love spending time outdoors floating the rivers while fishing with our dogs, Uma and Ruby. A sustainable and environmentally focused farming experience should be available to all our children.

Albert Osterman is a 22-year-old New York native with a passion for public service and the environment. He holds a B.S. in Sustainability from the State University of New York at Delhi and is currently a graduate candidate at New York University, pursuing an MPA in Public & Nonprofit Management & Policy, as well as an M.A. in International Relations.

He has served on the B.O.D. for the College Association at Delhi, represented the Agriculture and Technology colleges within the SUNY Student Assembly, and worked as a district intern for Congressman Josh Riley.

Albert brings his unique experiences, such as raising a mob of emus, and his love for the outdoors, to the board in his position as treasurer. You can always find him working on policy memos with his cat, planting garlic, or driving a firetruck!

Jennifer Anderson, mom to two daughters and two dogs lives in Woodacre, CA. Jennifer is the Associate Director of Operations at the Cameron Schrier Foundation and Administrative Director of the Office of the CIO at Indaba Capital Management, L.P.

She graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California at Davis. She has been on the board of Neighborhood Playgarden, a non-profit preschool in San Francisco and an active parent volunteer at the New Village School in Sausalito.
