Gabe finds deep purpose in the physicality of farm work — from planting seeds to harvesting by hand — and brings that same energy to teaching others, sharing practical skills and profound respect for the land as a path to connection, resilience, and growth.
Gabriel is the founder and Executive Director of The Bovina Center for Sustainability. After a career dedicated to education, he has brought his vision to fruition, combining a love of the natural world, a commitment to being additive to local communities, and a desire to highlight solution-based mindsets through experiential learning.
With a wealth of experience, including 30 years of classroom teaching, 15 years of serving on school boards, and over 12 years in school management, Gabriel is uniquely qualified to lead the Center and its programs.
Myles serves as the Assistant Director of The Bovina Center for Sustainability, a role he holds with expertise grounded in a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability from the State University of New York at Delhi. His practical experience with sustainable practices began early and was cultivated through his time working with a school on an educational farm in California.
The persistent hardships of environmental change in California—specifically severe wildfires and drought—inspired Myles to relocate to New York and help establish The Bovina Center for Sustainability. In his current position, he is dedicated to advancing the Center's mission and leveraging his background in both farming and education to foster sustainable community practices.
Beyond his professional life, Myles is deeply committed to community service. He is an active and valued member of the Bovina Fire Department, where he volunteers his time and skills as both a dedicated firefighter and an EMS provider, consistently giving back to those around him.

Aloha! I've been fortunate enough to know Gabe and Alexis since we were in kindergarten together in 1979. As a lifelong public school teacher of 26 years, I'm excited to help develop the academic curriculum for this wonderful project.
My wife Kristie and I raised our son in Wyoming, and we are now settled in Montana. We hunt, fish, and process all our own animals. We love spending time outdoors floating the rivers while fishing with our dogs, Uma and Ruby. A sustainable and environmentally focused farming experience should be available to all our children.
