A photograph shows a small, man-made waterfall cascading from a dry-stacked stone wall. Water flows down into a mossy pool below. The wall and the area around the waterfall are covered in lush green moss and various ferns. In the background, there are trees, some with bare branches and others with pink and yellow spring blossoms.

Welcome to the Water Wisdom Week!

During this week, participants step into the role of a landscape architect and farm steward. Each morning, as we embark on morning chores,  we embrace the responsibilities of animal husbandry and seasonal food production. This gives hands-on experience in what it takes to sustain a working farm.

This week’s specialized focus centers on a vital "Water Wisdom" project, where campers will work together to construct a dry creek bed leading from our water retention pond. By strategically placing rocks and native stones, children will engineer a functional and beautiful drainage system designed to manage runoff and protect the surrounding soil. This immersive week, where the science of hydrology meets the grit of farm work, is a week of meaningful work and active exploration, showing children the rewarding journey of using natural elements to help a farm ecosystem flourish.
