A wide-angle landscape photograph shows the wooden frame of a large pole barn under construction, situated in a cleared dirt field. The frame consists of vertical posts supporting roof trusses. In the background, there are trees and a field under a blue sky with scattered white clouds. A piece of construction equipment is visible on the left side near the frame.

Welcome to Pasture Pioneers Week!

Step into the role of a farm steward this summer at our Pasture Pioneers Camp, a five-day immersive experience in sustainable agriculture. Each day, participants will dive into the essential rhythms of the farm, managing daily animal husbandry and learning the intricate processes of seasonal food production. This week’s primary focus is a farm structure project: the design and construction of a new multi-purpose animal shelter in our lower pasture. This vital structure is designed to provide the livestock with sanctuary from inclement weather and relief during the summer heat, while serving as a centralized hub for feeding and watering. It is a rewarding week of hands-on building and teamwork that shows children how thoughtful architecture supports animal welfare and farm efficiency.
